“‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.’ When Harod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.” – Matthew 2:2-3 – NKJ

Since the day Jesus came to this earth to prepare a way for men to reach Father God, kingdoms and governments have been troubled. There has been a continuous effort to “get rid” of Jesus since the time of His birth.

I don’t have time to go into all the reasons for Herod’s troubledness, but I will say this: anyone living with sin issues in their life will try very hard to snuff Jesus’ influence out. When there is a demand on a person to come up higher ethically and morally, that person can do one of two things……come up or get out!

Herod knew he would have to come up higher if this indeed was the Christ Child who had been born, something he wasn’t yet ready to do. How about you? Are you troubled by the Presence of God that is rising around you? Are you running from God because you don’t want to come up higher and lay down the issues you think are hidden? Don’t be a Herod this holiday season…………..surrender and let God be the “Salvation” He came to be.
