“And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” – Matthew 2:11 – NKJ (underline added)

Interesting part of the Christmas story. When the wise men found the Child they offered Him gifts; not just any gifts, they offered Him their treasures.

Treasure is defined by Merriam-Webster as: something of great worth or value. Something we value greatly, not even necessarily a material thing, is a treasure. What we spend our money on or spend our time doing, thinking, or talking about, is a treasure to us.

Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:21) That being true, what the wise men really offered the Christ Child was their hearts. Jesus wants your treasures. When you give them to him fully – He’ll finally have your heart!
