MARRIAGE TIP: FEED ON – AND SERVE UP – HONEY EVERY DAY
Scietists and nutritionists alike have discovered that one of the healthiest and most valuable 'sweetening' ingredients known to man is honey. Honey has powerful qualities that make it good for many thigs besides adding ‘sweetness’ to the palate: it is good for boosting energy levels, it has antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties that build the immune system and fight cancers, and it is a great tool for fighting against such things as yeast overgrowth and arthritis pain. In many circles, honey is an under-rated and under-appreciated commodity.
In Proverbs 16:24 God says, “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, ‘sweetness’ to the soul and ‘health’ to the bones.” Just as natural honey provides dietary sweetness and medicinal benefits, WORDS ‘heal’ the soul and add ‘sweetness’ to relationships.
The Bible says that “a soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger.” (Proverbs 15:1) The best thing for your marriage is to practice the habit of “dripping honey”. Let your words be ‘sweet’ and use their power to ‘heal’ instead of kill. Your mouth is the single most important component to a happy, ‘healthy’, and ‘sweet’ relationship between you and your spouse. Let it be honey to the soul!
