DOES LIFE SEEM TO HAVE YOU BY THE THROAT…..
Deena,
I have to admit, the life had me by the throat, with school, taking on the role of the new church librarian, and a somewhat rebellious teen, I had my priorities out of whack and even though I kept up with other devotions, I would say to myself I would get to reading your daily doses later, not fully realizing that they are video blogs…not catching that even though I got the invite to check it out….
Now that I have re-prioritized and re-energized, I took time to come to your page and prepared to ‘read’ your post, I was strangely surprised to see a video and even went back and checked to see if I clicked the right link.
I have to say this gave a new meaning to me of ..”this comes by hearing the word”…
I love to read God’s word and hear what He has to say in it to me, but I also love to hear others talk about God’s word and share their thoughts and ideas about how God used His word to speak to them. I have been on a journey to learn how to be still and wait on the Lord, and so far this year He has shown me that first I need to really make time to be alone with Him, and not just routinely read and study…I need time to listen too.
As I now listen while reading I can say now more often than not I can go to the Lord when trouble seems to be brewing…in regards to not only my somewhat rebellious teen…but whenever my day does not seem to be fitting into “MY plans”, I can stop and listen to my heart remind me that maybe, just maybe this isn’t what God had planned for you today and then I stop and give Him time to talk to me.
I love this new video blog..I enjoyed this one, not only because of what is going on in the world outside of my home, but because it helped me see how I really can apply it to what is going on in the world inside of my home.
I do not start my day without the Lord, and I learning to journey with Him all day, and when I finally lay down to rest, I thank Him for all He brought me to and through.
Keep up the wonderful work of the Lord and sharing His word….
Annette
